The gap between the pitch and the delivery is costing you clients
I have been in staffing long enough to watch this play out more times than I can count.
Sales gets in the room, builds the relationship, and does exactly what they are supposed to do. They sell the dream...Speed. Quality. A true partnership.
The client gets excited and signs on. Everyone is celebrating. 🙌
Then the handoff happens... and that is where it slides...
Somewhere between that signed contract and the first recruiter touchpoint, something gets lost:
➡️ The energy shifts.
➡️ The communication changes.
➡️ The candidates that show up look nothing like what was described in the pitch.
𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺, 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹.
I have been on all sides of this. I have seen recruiters set up to fail because nobody told them what was actually promised. I have seen clients go cold in the first two weeks because the experience felt completely different from the sales conversation. And I have seen great relationships fall apart not because the firm lacked talent but because the internal communication broke down before the work even started.
𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵... The client is not just evaluating your candidates. They are evaluating whether the person in front of them right now knows what the person before them said. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝘅 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱.
Get sales and recruiting in the same conversation before the client ever hears from the delivery side.
👉 What was promised?
👉 What does this client actually care about?
👉 Where are the landmines?
